Child’s Prayer

Teach your children to pray over themselves:

I am a disciple taught of the Lord; great is my peace and undisturbed composure. No weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isa. 54:13 & 17) but what I lay my hand to shall prosper because I walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of the sinner, nor sit at the seat of the scornful, therefore I am blessed of God. My delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law I meditate both day and night. I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water and I shall bring forth my fruit in season. (Proverbs 1-3)

I obey my parents, for this is right. I honor my father and my mother because that is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with me and I may live long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:1-3)

This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth; but I shall meditate therein day and night, that I may do all that is written therein, for then I shall make my way prosperous and then I shall have good success. (Josh. 1:8) For God so loved me that He gave Jesus, that if I would believe in Him I would not perish but I would have everlasting life. For God didn’t send Jesus into the world to condemn me, but that through Him I might be saved. (John 3:16 & 17)

I am strong in the Lord and the power of His might. I have on the whole armor of God that I may be able to stand against the devil. For I wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore I take on the whole armor of God that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, I stand with my loins girt about with truth. I have on the breastplate of righteousness, my feet are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and above all I have the shield of faith, wherewith I shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. I have on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. (Eph. 6:10-17)

God searches my heart and He knows my thoughts to see if there be any wicked way in me, and He leads me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23 & 24 He keeps me back from presumptuous sins and doesn’t let them have dominion over me. The words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, are acceptable in His sight, because He is my Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:13 & 14

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal. 2:20)

Rom. 4:17 “God…calleth those things that be not as though they were.”

(Isa. 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”)

Psalms 23

A little girl stood up in church to read the Scripture for the divine service.  When she read the 23rd Psalm, it came out “the Lord is my Shepherd and that’s all I want.” The congregation laughed because they thought she was wrong—I think she was right.  When the Lord is my Shepherd:

  • I shall not want for rest, because He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
  • I shall not want for refreshment, because He leadeth me beside the still waters.
  • I shall not want for forgiveness, because He restoreth my soul.
  • I shall not want for guidance, because He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness.
  • I shall not want for companionship, because when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; He is with me.
  • I shall not want for comfort, because His rod and His staff will comfort me.
  • I shall not want for provision, because He prepares a table before me, even in the presence of my enemies.
  • I shall not want for joy, because He annointest my head with oil and my cup runneth over.
  • I shall not want for anything in this life, because He has assigned goodness and mercy to follow me all the days of my life.
  • I shall not want for anything in the hereafter, because I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

You see, the Lord is my Sheppard and that’s all I want
